Summary
Originating in 1941 the Parker 51 is one of the brand's oldest and most admired collections. It has often been referred to as 'one of the world's most sought after pens'. Today's version is produced from expertly engineered materials, staying true to the original design with a few modern tweaks. Inspired by the past, built for the future.
What is it made from?
The barrel is styled from rich black resin with a gloss-like polished finish. This follows through to a hooded nib, which is discretely protected by the grip section and offers a much cleaner writing experience. The nib is produced from high-quality stainless steel, designed to offer a smooth and consistent writing experience. The cap of the pen is styled from stainless steel with a brushed effect, palladium plated trims, the iconic arrow-head pocket clip and a jewel on the top.
What kind of refills does it use?
The fountain pen is supplied with a long Parker Quink Ink Cartridge as standard. It can be used with both long and short versions of the ink cartridge. We recommend the long version to people who write frequently or for long periods. The mini cartridges are more practical for people who only use their pens on special occasions, and we recommend cleaning the pen between uses. You can also use bottled ink with this pen by fitting it with a Parker Deluxe Converter (included). This is essentially an empty ink cartridge that you can fill with a fountain pen ink of your choice (sold separately).
