Paper seems like such a mundane thing, but in reality its so complex, and can have a massive impact on the quality of your handwriting, the finished result of your ink, and your general writing experience. If there's one thing nice pens needs, its nice paper.
Paper is made by pressing wet fibres of wood and then drying them into sheets. Its been around for thousands of years, and over the years the manufacturing process has been refined so much that today, paper is a mass produced product you find in packaging, books, construction and every other aspect of life.
The quality of paper can vary drastically from your run of the mill printer paper, right the way up to premium writing paper and artists sketching paper. A quick way to tell these apart, is the GSM (grams per square meter). Generally, the higher the GSM, the better quality the paper. We recommend, for the best fountain pen experience, to aim for over 90gsm paper.
