An Introduction to the Parker 51 Collection
The Parker 51 range is one of the brand's oldest collections, dating back to 1941. The brand released the pens in honour of its 51st anniversary in 1939. It's thought that this is where the collection gets its name. The Parker 51 quickly became a fan favourite among writers and is still a popular choice.
About the Nib
The Parker 51 nib section derives its style from the conical shape of fighter jets. In the 1940s, they were made from Lucite, a type of resin/plastic also used to create planes.
This modern version of the Parker 51 nib is made from precious resin, maintaining the style of its predecessors. It has 23K gold plated trims, and a solid 18K gold writing tip.
The hooded design is famous among pen enthusiasts, admired for its ability to prevent ink drying out inside the nib.
Which pens will this nib fit?
The nib is compatible with the contemporary Parker 51 models with a plum-coloured barrel (released in 2021). It will not fit older models as the fitting for the barrel differs in size and style.
How to change the nib
- Step 1: Unscrew the grip section/nib from the barrel of your pen
- Step 2: At this stage, we recommend removing the ink cartridge and cleaning the old nib if you wish to keep it. If you're using a converter, we would also encourage cleaning this before using it with your new nib.
- Step 3: You can insert a new ink cartridge or your converter into the new nib and then screw the nib into the barrel of your pen
- Step 4: Enjoy!
