An introduction to the Parker 51 Collection
In 1941 Parker released the first ever Parker 51 fountain pen to celebrate their 51st anniversary (1939). It soon became a best-selling model, making more than $400 million in three decades. The range continues to be a popular choice among writers and today's version continues the signature style of its predecessors.
About the Nib
The nib has a conical shape with a hooded writing tip, taking inspiration from the design of fighter jets. The grip is manufactured from precious resin with a gloss-burgundy finish. It has polished chrome trims and a stainless steel tip, designed to provide a smooth and consistent writing experience.
Which pens will this nib fit?
The nib is compatible with the modern version of the Parker 51 fountain pens (produced post-2021) with a burgundy barrel and chrome trims.
How to change the nib
- Step 1: You first need to unscrew the old nib from your pen and remove the ink cartridge or converter (if applicable).
- Step 2: At this stage, we recommend cleaning the old nib and the converter if you plan to keep or re-use them.
- Step 3: You can then insert a fresh ink cartridge or your converter into the new nib, and then insert it/screw it into the barrel of your pen
- Step 4: Start writing and enjoy!
Fun Fact: The original Parker 51 was released at the same time as the development of Route 51 in Janesville.
