Drawing boards (or drafting boards) are desktop boards from which to do technical drawings, they are often made from thick plastic or fibreboard with durable laminate on the top which is ideal for compasses, sharp pencils and dividers. Drawing boards also usually have mechanical horizontal rules that can be moved up and down the board, and allow for drafting heads to be attached, for consistent parallel lines and angles in technical drawing.
